Back to Fishing Map |
The Madison River flows out of Yellowstone National Park and becomes a world-famous "Blue Ribbon" trout fishing and scenic river. Fishing from the Dam to Quake lake is the most predictable due to the warmed water and constant flow. RedRock RV Park is about 20 miles from US87 bridge where the river is slow with riffles for 50 miles downstream but big trout can be caught there. Large rainbow and brown trout are the main catches here. |
The river bed from US87 bridge consists of gravel and small stones and flows through an open environment of brush, hills, scattered trees and surrounding mountains. There are several turn-offs from Highway 287 for fishermen to try their luck. Montana Fishing Regulations (PDF) Montana License is needed here. |
