Local Forest Walk across from the RV Park into the forest. The trail starts at the forest road about one third mile from the park (west down Red Rock road). Optionally go to the crossing of Hope Creek. Look for wildflowers, birds and deer. Be aware of bears (they are rare). Take a couple side trips. Easy, gentle walk.
Henry's Lake Walk Walk down to Henry's Lake. Beautiful views of the lake with Black mountain in the background. Careful of the cows. Watch for shore birds, badgers, Eagles, wildflowers. Take extended walk over "cliffs" and to the Henry's Lake south beach for a 3.6 mile walk.
Bootjack Hill Great views of Henry's Lake from top of the hill. Wildflowers in Springtime. Also views of Sawtelle Mtn. Some of the walk is along Red Rock Road, so be careful of cars. Close the cattle gate you encounter.
Rock Creek Basin Drive about 18 miles to the trailhead. Rather ambitious trail but beautiful scenery (at 9,000 ft) starting near the top of Sawtelle Peak, dipping down 1500 feet into Rock Creek Basin. Watch for bears, slippery slopes. Don't start till snow pack is mostly gone, maybe July 1 to 15th.
Mile Creek Trail Drive about 17 miles to the trailhead in Montana. Walk along beautiful Mile Creek and up a canyon. Total hiking trip is 8.2 miles to the top of the Continental Divide (2000 feet climb). You don't have to climb to the top if you just walk the first couple miles and turn around. You'll not regret it.
Sheep Creek Trail This lengthy mountain trail in Montana follows Sheep Creek to the top of the surrounding mountains at Sheep Lake. Again, you don't have to go the whole way. It's full of forest wildflowers and beautiful mountain scenery. Drive 22 miles from the RV Park to the trailhead in Montana.
Coffee Pot Rapids This is a relative short trail, less than 2 miles RT that starts at a Forest Service Campground, about 14 miles from the RV Park. It is a beautiful, level walk along the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Wildflowers, Moose, Deer, Eagles, Osprey and Elk may grace your experience.
Sheep Falls Trail A short hike down to beautiful falls on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Not as magnificant as Upper Mesa Falls, but quiet, and secluded walk. It's a 36 mile drive to the trailhead. You might combine this with a visit to the Mesa Falls.
Lower Mesa Falls Trail Visit Upper Mesa Falls then take this side hiking trip to the overlook of Lower Mesa Falls. Go through forest with wildflowers and nice views of the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. 36 miles from the RedRock RV Park to the parking lot.
