This area has numerous birds that stay for the season. Some put out feeders others just look around them. This is a Sand Hill crane. They are huge birds that make a lot of noise while flying and mate for life. Sometimes you'll see a pair and their chicks across the street in the meadow.
The Western Tanager will often come into the park to the feeders.
Red-winged Black bird can be seen at Henry's Lake or sometimes around the feeders in the park.
This is a white-faced Ibis. You'll probably see him at Henry's Lake or more likely at one of the Red Rock Lakes in the nearby wildlife refuge.
The Spotted Sandpiper can be seen picking at the insects in the mud along the southern shores of Henry's Lake.
The barn swallow is a beautiful mix of colors and can be found sitting along Red Rock road in the wildlife refuge.
A trumpeter swan family at the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge not too far from the RV Park.
Western Meadowlark can be seen along the South Centennial road in the Refuge.
The Swainson's Hawk is common near the RV Park. They migrate to Argentina in South America every fall. They migrate further than any raptor.
The camp mascot is Henry and he hangs around looking for worms.
The Great Grey Owl is rare in these parts but spent some time with us a couple years ago.
The Western Kingbird is a flycatcher and the lake provides plenty of insects for him. He's more common in the wildlife refuge.
Who would mistake this guy for anything but a Bald Eagle? Look up down at Henry's Lake and you might find one fishing for lunch or dinner.
The Osprey is a bit more rare at Henry's Lake than it is at Island Park reservoir and Yellowstone Lake, but you can still spot one here if you look hard. These guys love to fish as much as our guests do.
Cinnamon Teal can often be seen floating in Henry's Lake. Notice the red eyes?
You might have to compete with these American White Pelicans when fishing in Henry's Lake.
